Financial Services, Speaker and Coach

ESPN is all about sports. Well, ALMOST all about sports…

ESPN’s feature program called “Outside The Lines” featured a man named Kyle Maynard yesterday. Kyle is like all of us; Uniquely Gifted. However, Kyle has used his gifts in extraordinary ways. His gift? Congenital Amputation; Kyle was born without arms and legs. Yet he has chosen to live a life of accomplishment and significance. A life that is inspiring and a life that makes a difference in the lives of millions of people.

The ESPN feature documented his latest adventure. He chose to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro, at 5,895 meters or 19,341 feet above sea, making it the highest peak on the continent of Africa. Picture this: a man without arms an legs climbing one of the tallest mountains in the world.

This feat makes one ask a simple question; “WHY?” In Kyle’s case, the answer is simple, yet complex. Kyle spends his entire life pushing the envelope of what’s possible. Not what’s possible with his disability, but WHAT’S POSSIBLE…PERIOD.

In this case, the Mt. Kilimanjaro Project was to honor fallen veterans. Kyle has become involved in the Wounded Warrior Program, and on his climb he took the ashes of a fallen soldier to the summit.

Here’s a couple questions for you; What is YOUR “Why”? What drives YOU to push YOUR envelope of what’s possible for you? What is so important that YOU will get down on your hands and knees to crawl to see “it” achieved?

Thank you Kyle. I have added you to my list of “Heroes.”

Work hard; have fun!
