Michael, I heard you speak at NSA-MN Tuesday evening. Yes, I am a member of BNI, almost 2 years. An investment advisor and I started a chapter about in April 2005 because we couldn't get into other groups due to our professions (mine is mortgage broker). Some members get business right away, others, like myself in professions requiring high trust, take a little longer as the relationships build. It didn't generate business as quickly as I had wanted and it has been a lot of work to start and continue building the chapter. But overall, it is worth it. Business generated from it is starting to build now, but equally as important are the contacts I have made and continue to make. If a person is going to be in any such organization, I believe BNI is the one to choose, because of the successful structure and support that exists.
